Job Description


Monday-Friday:  8:00am to 5:00pm


The Software Architect is responsible for high-level design of PathGroup’s internally-developed software systems, and technical leadership for the Software Development team.



  • Make high-level technical design choices for PathGroup software development initiatives and assist development team members with detailed design specifications.
  • Work closely with management within the IT organization to establish and evolve policies and procedures related to software development and delivery.
  • Ensure application software and databases are developed, enhanced and maintained according to established standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership to PathGroup’s software developers, database administrators, and software support personnel.
  • Negotiate functional and technical requirements with department leads.
  • Track software metrics for application improvement.
  • Ensure familiarity with a wide variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Establish technical baselines for development products.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry’s best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
  • Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.


  • Work with other departments within PathGroup and subsidiaries.

Work Schedule
Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering field; or applicable education and experience equivalent.


  • At least ten years of job-related experience.
  • Extensive programming experience with Microsoft development tools.
  • Strong relational database knowledge and understanding of data warehousing.
  • Experience implementing software solutions with at least one major cloud vendor.
  • Healthcare/Health Insurance background is helpful.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels and backgrounds of people as well as effectively present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public.
  • Must be skilled at developing long-term plans and programs.
  • Aptitude for applying and adapting practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management.
