Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Healthcare Application Analyst II serves as the customer contact for technical issues with application software including questions on best practices, integration with departmental workflows, technical capabilities, planned upgrades, and problem identification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide Tier II level application support to customers and business office staff.
  • Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
  • Accountable for timely management of all assignments, including ticket management and maintaining an up-to-date status in tracking system.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute reports based on user/client needs.
  • Manage setup and maintenance of Payer Contract Module, Transaction Editing System edits, and third party Claim Scrubber edit rules.
  • Manage setup and maintenance of all EDI and paper carriers, data dictionaries, fee schedules, Enterprise Task Management workflows.
  • Work directly with payers to resolve EDI issues.
  • Analyze, identify and implement resolution in regards to issues with interfaces.
  • Map insurance data for all ADT and order interfaces.
  • Analyze, generate and process registration and charge files.
  • Participate and guide the design, testing, implementation and on-going maintenance of new and existing applications.
  • Maintain working knowledge of workflow, systems, and tools used in the department.
  • Maintain the flow of information in-between different computer systems.
  • Provide training and support to entry-level Healthcare Application Analysts.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry’s best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
  • Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION & LICENSURE:

  • High school diploma or GED is required. An Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to three years of prior job-related experience required.
  • General knowledge of healthcare operations, application support, payer business processes and/or EDI HIPAA X12 transaction sets strongly desired.
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
